An innovative system for separating solid particles (>100μm) from solid-gas mixtures using inertia/impact separation. The invention addresses the need to reduce wear in furnace internal components and severe mechanical damage in re-circulating fans caused by foundry sand in aluminum heat-treating furnaces. The system achieves separation efficiencies of 60–80% depending on particle size, enabling CAN-ENG Furnaces to offer a one-year warranty on re-circulating fans (up from a typical two-month service life).
