The aerodynamics of a small-scale vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT) are currently being investigated experimentally and numerically. Some of this work is being undertaken with an industrial partner, Cleanfield Energy. A wide range of issues are under consideration, primarily associated with aerodynamics, power production and mitigation of vibration excitation.
